CoolSoft MP3 Sound Cutter (Power MP3 Cutter) is a neat piece of software that allows you to trim and split MP3 and WAV files. You can switch from MP3 to WAV (and vice-versa) any time, or perform all your tasks without leaving the MP3 format, cutting full sections and adding fade-in and fade-out effects to your MP3 files without transcoding them, thus minimizing any loss of sound quality.
It supports both MP3 and WAV files, and there is no need to decode your compressed files to work with them, unless you really want to. You can open a WAV file and cut it into smaller WAV or MP3 files, or you can open an MP3 file and create smaller MP3 or WAV files, or new MP3 files with a different audio quality. Therefore, you can also use MP3 Sound Cutter to move your MP3 audio files to a different bit rate. Once you have made your selection, you can cut either the selected or the unselected audio. As a bonus, you can add fade-in and fade-out effects to the split file, thus producing smoother transitions.
This small MP3 cutter comes in a small interface with a batch window attached. There you can cue your cutting and encoding jobs and perform a long list of different operations with different codecs with just one click. It will also let you playback your audio files to select the right cutting points, showing you a spectrum analyzer to help you find the right audio segment.
But when you install Power MP3 Cutter in your system, it comes with two extra pieces of software which are equally useful–a professional version of MP3 Cutter and MP3 Sound Recorder. Power MP3 Cutter Professional opens a big nice window that will show you a wave-form view of your audio files, offering you a more accurate way of selecting your cutting positions. The MP3 Sound Recorder can capture any sound that comes through your soundcard, a microphone or any other line source, directly into either WAV or MP3, without any further compression. |
